Hello from Alaska!

Last week I bought a 23 T Bucket. It needs a lot of work but is driveable, althought not legal yet. (I sneak around the neighborhood at night) It has a metal body, 283 w/ auto trans and is in good condition. Because it's not finished it was only $5500. It needs interior, front brakes, and paint. I feel fortunate to have it. I am an upholster by trade and have an auto body shop, so this is perfect for me. Monday I registered it, got plates and added insurance. Yesterday installed a transmission cooler. Tomorrow the Painless T Bucket wiring system from Summit Racing should arrive. When I have brake lights I'll venture out into the world. While driving home from buying it with it on the trailer a guy and his wife next to me asked if I'd sell it. Then he offered his trike as trade. I can see this is going be fun out in public. :) I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys, and gals. I still pinch myself when I think I have a T Bucket hot rod. How cool! We are the lucky few!!:)

Welcome to the forum! Post up some pics of your ride. A before and after will help out some of the other guys. It would be great if you could post some progress pics of the bodywork and interior as you go along. You'll find this is a friendly place where we all try to help out each other. You definitely have some skills and ability that are in demand here.

Hey Ben, thanks for your reply. I'm happy to share what I can about upholstery and auto body. Regarding pics, can you tell me how to upload them?

Thanks!

Dan

Looks like a model a frame... Will definitely be interested in seeing the progress.
So being in AK, how many cruising months do you figure you will have per year?

6-7 seems optimistic...but you guys are a rugged and hearty bunch. We're wimps here in the lower 48!

Haha. It starts getting nice in April and cool in October. The best months are May thru August. Diehards cruise until the snow falls and bundle up. You'd be surprised how many classics and hot rods there are here. On a nice days they seem to be everywhere.

Welcome from Northern Illinois Dan, late April to early October is about normal for us here in the mid west but I can't imagine doing that in Alaska.
