Hello everyone,

My name is Casey, just wanted to introduce myself. I am in the process of putting together my first T-bucket. I have gathered up my engine, trans, and rear end. Hopefully my new body from CCR will be here on Thursday. Once it gets here I will start my chassis fabrication. I have looked at several different chassis layouts/plans and have decided I will just make my own to fit what i want. I will start posting pics as I get things actually going, rather than a pile of parts. :-)

Just wanted to say HI and I think you guys have a great forum here. I look forward to chatting from time to time. I am from the North Texas area, so if there are any local guys on here, shoot me a line sometime if you're gonna be out and about. I would like to meet ya and check out your ride.

Welcome from up north. My son is in Wichita falls and it is 104 can't imagine thinking about working on a bucket unless you have air conditioned garage.

Welcome to the sight

Welcome Casey, quite a few people here from Texas.

I am using a 500ci Cadillac and a 700R4 trans backed by a 9 inch Ford. Please understand I'm not looking for the ultimate horsepower/torque monster....its kind of a nostalgia thing for me. I worked on Cadillacs for many years, so it just seemed to be the right way to go. Plus using a SBC would just be too easy....I have a tendency to make my projects more difficult and expensive. Hehe!

Ted,

Kaaso is doing just what I was wanting to do, low rpm grunt. I can't remember what the 500 cid Caddy did, but the 472 has some tasty numbers '68-'69 472... 375 hp @ 4400 rpm (and 525 lbs-ft torque @ 3000 rpm). Plus he plans on using a 700R. Ted, is your house bugged?

Kaaso, I was just talking to Ted today at his home about my "need" for off idle performance and tied to a 4 speed overdrive, locking torque tranny like the 700R. Keep us posted. as I have a keen interest in your and Northstar T's build. Good luck, and that is going to be one fun ride.

Welcome to the forum Casey, I'm looking forward to following your build.
