Hydraulic shocks? Friction shocks?

Hey all,,I'm trying to decide what type of shock I'm going to run. Wanna try to stay with a friction shock, or Hydraulic lever shock. I'm planning on mounting them on the insides of the kick-up. Has anyone messed with either of these much?

Looks like there is nobody with a good answer. Can you maybe include a drawing of what you want to do or know about. I guess that I may not understand what you are meaning. With as many folks looking at you post, possibly they are confused also. Just a thought..

Out of the two, the juice lever shock would be less maintenance once installed and more constant. The fiction ones cost less but need to be adjusted once in awhile, so I heard.

exactly what my dad picked up the other day. got a bunch of small parts coming in this week. Should get a little closer this weekend

I use the hydraulic lever shocks on the front:
They are called Houdailles, and were the shocks used on most cars until 1948. Then the tube shock was invented. There are a few places that can rebuild old Houdailles. Friction shocks are not very good, see here: Friction disk shock absorber - Wikipedia

Back in "the day" the first thing rodders did was install "airplane shocks" and dump the frictions..
