Installing a B&M Universal Kickdown cable on a TH350

Hello friends,

Please take a look at my set up here, and let me know how the carb-side end of the kickdown cable has to be hooked to the carb? This is a universal kickdown cable from B&M that I purchased from Jegs.

Thanks much for all your help!

Cheers!

I have a similar set-up. I've taken a picture with my cell phone, but I can't get it to load on my home computer. I've sent it to my office computer and maybe can post it tomorrow from work. Mine is a Lokar and hooks up to where you have your return springs hooked up. The Lokar set-up provides an additional tab for the return springs that leaves that big hole available for the kick-down hook-up. The Lokar has a similar connector to your black one. Snaps on to a knob that screws into the big hole where your springs are connected.

EDIT: I found this pic in my files...

Andy, Lee has got it pinned down for you.

You're going to need to move your return spring setup, as that hole in the throttle lever is where the stud for the kickdown will need to be. If your cable kit did not come with a stud, you will need to make sure you get the correct one for the kit. You local speed shop/Holley dealer will have an assortment of throttle studs to choose from. Part numbers on those studs will range in the 20-30's to 20-40's. Be sure you have a mounting bracket for the cable, so it will have a straight pull from the throttle lever and Bob's your uncle.

Here's the pic from last night. You can see the extra tab that Lokar provides for the springs. Probably wouldn't be too difficult to fabricated something similar.

Thanks Guys!

It looks like moving the return spring is the way to go.
I was down in the shop late last night, and I've figured out an alternate location on the manifold to mount the throttle spring arm.
I'll try it out tonite if possible and see how that shapes up and post new pics for you to review.

Time to hunt for the throttle stud.

Cheers!
Andy

Found something that I could use. But the question is, will this go with my Edelbrock 1403 carb?

Here is the link to the stud.

That's exactly what mine looks like. Should work fine with your carb since it's made by Edlebrock (yes, I realize that's no guarantee!).

Gents,

This part is perfect! I travelled 35 miles to get it, all the way from work, to the nearest Advanced Autoparts Store. The guy was good enough to hold the only one he had in stock for me. I came home and put it in, and it fit perfectly!

Will try to update my album tonite, if not later this week.

Thanks for helping me resolve this issue!!!
