I recently purchased a work in progress and would like to know if you can run a front end without brakes.

Front brakes provide about 70% of the stopping power on an automobile. Without them you will need some real serious rear brakes.

George, I'm running them on mine and I agree with the guys. I have even tried converting to discs on the rear but they don't really lock up. They just slow you down fast. I would be in trouble in a panic situation. I will be remedying that soon. I love the look but safety comes first. Like you, I bought a work in progress and it came with the wire wheels and hubs with no way to bolt rotors on so I need to replace everything.

Glad to hear your going for some brakes up front.
MC tire are mostly made so there is round tread vs flat tread of a car tire[cars need more grip to hold the road vs a MC is lite.
Point is round treaded MC tire dosen't work well for braking and not very good for steering ether on a car.
I hate seeing no brakes on the front of a rod and really don't like the looks of tire that can't work well ether,even the ribbed dirt track tire don't steer or brake well that you see way to much as a poor engineering style.
