Anybody know what year/make/model this trans is? Number on side is: 3863192

I was told it is a 2 speed powerglide but unsure what it came from. Any ideas?

Thanks for the link! that should at least confirm the type, now I need to find the year.

Gerry- I have never driven it therefore unsure how to find the amount of gears.

That number you gave is on the tail housing. It is a tailhousing casting number used on most powerglides. Google the number with powerglide.

Powerglide= PRNDL [5 positions on the shift shaft , you should be able to feel the detents]
