Building modified. Started with ten inch stretched RPM frame with model A rear crossmember. Plan on using a 40 rear with reversed bells, spring in front. 32 ford front with split bones. 1935 wires with firestones. Still haven't decided on power, definitely not any v8..... I have two Mercedes 5 cylinder turbo diesels, thinking about one of those or to be simple a ford 300-6 or maybe a 2.3 l ford.......no fuel injection. I have built several other cars, 63 Comet blown pro street, 33 Nash three window and a thirty nine Buick special among others.

I like the idea of the MB diesel. It's a decent engine in a 3500 lb sedan, and should be very nice indeed with half that weight to lug around. On the other hand, you could do a lot with a Ford 200 (Falcon/Maverick/Mustang) straight six, using the stuff from www.fordsix.com, and get nearly the mpg of the Benz diesel.
