The road laws are MUCH stricter. Just shows how much they still want a cool car! Notice the headlight height too.

If you build a frame, the design has got to be signed off by an engineer and the finished frame and welds inspected by a another engineer.
This sort of oversight covers most things on the build.

Yeah, we in the US might complain about the regs, but they are facing MUCH bigger hurdles.
