Epoxy appliance paint isn't designed to to hold up under UV rays. If these are your only two options, I would use engine paint, but if it were me, I would use an automotive urethane. If that isn't an option, you could use an industrial urethane. Most of them have good chemical resistance. Epoxies are designed to adhere and are usually used as a first coat to be top coated by a urethane in exterior applications due to the fact that epoxies aren't UV stable.
Blackcote is advertised to be non-removable by any chemicals after every it dries so it should stand up to gasoline pretty well. I have it on a couple of carbs and it looks like new but I don't spend a lot of time splashing gas on them.
What Keeper said! The Tractor Enamel is made to withstand the sun, gas and diesel, hydraulic, motor oil spills and to put up with a abrasive enviroment....
Theres the John Deere Black that is the exact same as the HotRod Flat Black....cheaper and is more durable even without the hardener.
I don't know Jack about any painting or spraying except from rattlecans....but it does hold up well....
