Primer on the frame

Most people think that primer is used to protect from rust and to create a good base for color coats. None of this is true. When you are sure you have filled, sanded and prepped to perfection, spray on primer to see how wrong you really are. :thumb:

Looks nice... and llooonnnggggg. Or is that just the picture? Or my tired eyes?
What's the wheel base? Sorry if you've answered that before.

Ya, a basic primer (non-surfacer) sure can show how "good" the work is.
Better to see it in the primer than when the paint goes on.

Nice frame rack primer tells the true story. nice looking frame.

I have some pieces that have been in nothing but epoxy primer for years and show no signs of rust.

It's just the picture. Wheel base is only 103" or 104"

I see... thanks.

You know.. I was so busy looking at the frame I never looked at the rotisserie. :dummy:
Very simple, effective and not expensive. Thanks for the idea! :thumb:

I used to think one epoxy primer was as good as another. That was until I tried some 'cheap' (there's the nasty word) Proform primer/sealer.
That stuff works great if you let it cure and then cover it. But if you don't cover it... it is almost as bad as old lacquer, which was totally porous.
I just about lost the work on my daily (93 Camry... mint except for a few rust spots) and essential did lose the work on my brother's little 4x4. He left it unpainted for a couple of weeks. Man .. that thing rotted. I hand formed rear fenders for that thing... was I ever ticked.
I painted for a living (for a couple decades or so) so I wasn't a newbie at it.
Only good epoxy for my stuff now.
