S10 rear end question

I hope I don't have a problem, but...
I have the car up on jack stands, the tranny is in park(brand new with no fluid) and rear wheels rotate. Drive shaft does not move. If tranny is in park, car should not be able to roll. Right?

I have a problem, don't I??????

No problem if wheels rotate opposite directions to each other, that is what a differential does. If they rotate the same direction you have a problem

That is normal, no problem at all. :)

Okay, it is doing everything you fellas are saying, so I am alright. But, how come the wheels move when the tranny is in park? I'm a little cornfused here.

Thanks

Normal function of the differential , try turning them both the same direction at the same time...

You will see that if you put the car down on the ground the tires will lock up and the car won't move.
