Mike, have you heard anything about their attempt at Bonneville? last thing I heard was that a chain had come adrift and destroyed a coupler housing. A machineist was found on the east coast who would make another in 24 hrs. and ship it to them in Utah. Thats' all I know. Thats' all I have heard.

O.K., Scotland is the country, Scottish is really an adjective to name the people, Scotch can be 'of or relating to Scotland' or 'a person/the people of Scotland'. Scotch whiskey is an adjective that has slipped into being a noun, a catch all for all whiskeys made in Scotland. "Gimme a scotch on the rocks" Where as, if one requests a whisky from Ireland, one will always request an IRISH WHISKY to sooth your fevered brow. Neat. As a transplant of predominately Irish/English ancestry (with a wee bit o Scotch thrown in, they went EVERYWHERE), I'll take the threats and be the better man for it. Ten years clean & sober.

try telling the guys north of England that. I had a black eye to prove it

Scotch (adjective), a largely obsolescent adjective meaning having to do with Scotland and usually now considered pejorative unless related to food or drink.

Oh, those ruffians.

And rough is being kind, believe me. My father lived in Glasgow for several years. It was not pretty

Sorry for the deviation... back to Bonneville

No, I've no news about it at all.

Actually, the Scots are Scottish. :winkn: Although I once knew some Scotts who were Scots, meaning they were Scottish.

Scotch whiskey is an adjective that has slipped into being a noun, a catch all for all whiskeys made in Scotland.
Well, it's actually spelled whisky in Scotland, as well as Eìre.

And rough is being kind, believe me. My father lived in Glasgow for several years. It was not pretty
Stayed in the Gorbals, did he? :wow: Will ye ken hae tae gie a Gorbals kiss then? :)

For those not knowing, the Gorbals is a region of Glesga on the south bank of the River Clyde. And to say the area was once pretty rough is a major understatement. The question, "Kin yer Maw sew", is still enough to strike fear in the hearts of men, because people still remember the razor gangs.  "Kin yer Maw sew", would likely be followed by, "Git her tae sew that", as a razor was slid down someone's cheek.

And a Gorbals kiss or a Glasgow kiss is a head-butt to the face.

:rofl::rofl: LMAO you guy's crack me up !! Did too Did Not Did Too Did Not Did To Did Not Did To Did Not Did To ...:roll:
