Shameless plug for CCR's body.

Two words...... top shelf. The body came in a large box, secured to some 2 x 4's (in the pic). The door closes with a nice, solid THUD. ALL the measurements Resinator gave me months ago, are dead on! There are a few minor blemishes and to be honest, I'm not sure if I'll paint the body or not. I'll cross that bridge, when I get to it. But so far..... I'm going to leave it.

Woohooo! Awesome, Fred. Get your lawn chair and sit in it and make some vroom-vroom noises!:thumbsup: And thanks for the pics!

(Nevermind about the lawn chair; I just read your other post!:D)

I'm happy to see that your wait was worth it, Fred. You can relax now.

I'll second that "Top Shelf" comment and add "Second to None" goes for everything CCR makes.

Relax? I quit smoking the day it shipped and I'm STILL a nervous wreck. :D

I bought a used body ( unknown make ) and other parts at a good price. Right now I'm cleaning the body up, I cut the floor out so I can channel it. I plan to patch up some holes in the firewall and would like to lengthen it about 6". This looks like the better root, probably cheaper and defiantly cleaner. I bought my frame plans from Bill back when you had to put a check in an envelope and mail it. From one ex smoker to another, there seemed to never be a good time to quit, That body looks great and so does your car!

Again, my favorite part of the build process! See what I mean about rolling the car outside to get a better perspective on how it looks, sits, etc..
Considering the quality of the body, a radiator shell, perhaps by the same manufacturer, would be really photogenic.
Mount the shell but no aluminum parts (radiator, trans, etc..) and do a quick study in black & white with hints of color (like the red accents in the front axle). It would be worthy for framing.
Fred, what shell are you using and can you nicely, temporarily, mount the shell to give a little bit more of a car look.
Damn, now I want to build one of these things.

Keep up the good work, John

Probably just going with a T shell.

tfeverfred sorry if i missed it but is there a build thread for your car? i may have questions but a thread may answer some and i get some motivation to boot.

Yes, it's in the "Projects" section. Under "Black Dahlia".
