I have looked at the cost of 4 shocks for a JAG rearend from CCR and think they are a bit pricey ... $795 ... what is anyone else using or what\from who would you recommend?

Milt, that seems a little steep for non-chrome/non-polished coilovers (I assume that's what you were looking at on CCR's web site). You can get QA-1 polished body/chrome spring adjustable coilovers from Speedway for the same price. Also, you can get by with just one coilover per side if you're looking to save some $$$ (some will argue against that). I went with four just for looks.

Well, I pick up the rearend(s) next weekend and I think I will wait until I can see\talk to the guys at the nationals in Dayton to see what route they went. I rechecked CCR's website and the "like" shocks you pointed out from Speedway would cost well over a $1000 from CCR ... yuk!

What do you find wrong with the stock shock/coil/combo??? I usually take two of the coils to a spring shop and have two new coils made at 1/2 strength, keep the old springs... I also check the shocks to find which are the 2 most worn or leaking and drill a 1/8" hole in them to drain the fluid from those two... (now they are just coil carriers) Now you can play with where to run them by testing them while driving with a passenger, the full strength springs in front of the axle??? or to the rear??? you will notice a difference... I figure why buy new when they come with the rear end, they mostly need to be mounted a bit closer to the third member, like 2 inches less per side... this kills some leverage that the coils needed with a heavier body... PS, If you ever have springs chromed, make sure they are oven baked to make them correct, takes out the Hydrogen embrittlement ...
