Shreveport Weather

Well, we had an exciting evening yesterday (10/29) etc. Some of you may have heard about the church steeple falling on a car in downtown Shreveport. We actually made national headlines...LOL. Anyway, we had a bunch of storms and at least three tornados rip through our area. One came through downtown and took down the steeple and then hit our office building as it continued it's path. We are only a block away from the church. Anyway, I am on the 8th floor and the whole building moved / swayed then a bunch of noise etc. Pretty scary, but we are okay. Below are some pics of the fun we had.

Where the steeple used to be...white base still there to the left of the red light and steeple laying in street right above the red car in center of pic (hard to see):

Bottom floor of our building...corner office:

Another angle of the office:

Hard to see, but a bunch of car windows blown out behind the office:

After I got myself home another storm hit our house area so the boys and I spent some time in the hallway waiting it out.

I'm glad you are okay. The weather has been brutal lately, but nothing like that.

We have been getting pounded here in Lafayette for the last few days. That wind always scares me because the tornados like to pop up out of nowhere. I'll take a hurricane any day of the week with their 5 day warnings. Glad to hear you are ok.

Glad to see no buckets damaged. Mother nature must know better than to damage a guys pride and joy. Glad nobody got hurt.

Glad you made it okay. That stuff came through here, but no tornadoes. I guess they were waiting for you guys.

Glad you guys are alright over there. I use to live in Shreveport, I recognized the church. If I remember right that was a pretty good size steeple.

I was through there not long after it came through. The off-ramp to the Flying J was flooded, and a car in it about up to the windows. I saw an apartment building flooded up to the bottom of the first floor windows.

I fought it all the way to Alexandria, then had to come back through it on Friday.
