Spirit 27T Super Kit

I am thinking of buying the Spirit 27T Super Kit. However, I have a few things that I am not sure of. I am not fond of the 10 bolt rear that comes with it. I am more inclined to use a Ford 9" but I see the Ford 8.8" is also an option so I may opt for that. My other concern comes with the quality of the parts included in the kit itself. I have been building muscle cars and classic cars for a while now and experience tells me that, usually, if it’s in a kit it is comprised of sub-par components to be as cheap as possible. That’s all fine and dandy until you shove a 500HP 429 Big Block Ford in the mix and all of a sudden the rad isn't large enough, frame can't take the stress, etc. I also will opt to use a Ford Transmission like a C6 rather than a TH350, not going to use the headers, won’t use the gauges. I am sure they can tailor the package to my liking but I suppose what I am trying to get at is, are the parts included in the kit worth the $10,000-$12,000 (plus shipping) price tag? Or am I better off sourcing the parts individually? I like the idea of getting most of my parts from one source but I am also not willing to sacrifice quality for convenience.

I have been dealing with Spirit for some time and been in their shop a few times. You don't have to worry about what you get from Spirit, they take pride in selling the best parts available. If possible you should take a trip to visit them, they are very friendly and will gladly show you around. They always have some projects going that is real eye candy.

I have checked out Spirit's stuff and I do have a Spirit 23
All of the the parts that they include are top notch -- they don't use garbage ,low priced stuff in their kits
If you call Josh or Jennifer I am sure they will supply what you want in your kit

I bought a Spirit 23T "Stage III" kit in January, 2006. I drove the completed (well, mostly) T on June 17, 2006. I am completely satisfied with the quality of all the parts supplied by Spirit. I am running a 500-ish HP 6-71-huffed 350 SBC in Spirit's standard frame with absolutely no problems. I did all the surface prep on the frame, including smoothing some welds that would be visible after assembly, and I can attest to the very good quality welds. I think you will be very happy with both the quality of the parts and the great service you will get from the Spirit folks. I also believe buying the complete package from a single vendor is the way to go. Everything is designed to fit together and does. I didn't have to refab anything or send anything back.
