Steering heim

I am in the process of running my steering & was wondering if a steering heim was necessary?
Seems to me the column & steering box are both stationary so I don't see how the shaft can wobble,
but I could be wrong. Oh yeah, cross steering set up

How many u-joints in your shaft ?? In most steering columns there is no "bearing" in the down end , usually a bushing or seal setup??

Dave,
I built my column out of s/s it has a bearing at each end. I was referring to the shaft between the column and the steering box. Plan on having a u-joint at the column
and one at the box. Hope this helps and thanks

If the top and bottom of the column are fixed, there should not be a reason for another support between the column and box unless it was a extreme distance. or double jointed. Just my opinion. A picture would help.

Like's been said , if both ends are supported , you shouldn't need another support ...... make sure you phase your u-joints properly...
