Quite a few cars shipped from the factory with one of those or something like it. The VW bug shipped with one for years to correct some goosy steering, my Studebaker Avanti came from the fasctory with one, etc... They do help if your steering is goosy, but won't fix any basic design or alignment problems. JMHO
O So-cals site they say every car they sell they put one on. The solid front axle design does have some design flaws if you don't agree then how come no new cars have one.
I have them on 2 T-buckets. First you need tight steering, then these will dampen the road bumps a little. I put one on my wife's car first, she liked it so I stuck one on mine. I don't notice any real difference, but on my T I put it from the radius rod to the drag link instead of to the tie rod. I thought that in theory it would be the same thing given that I have a 1:1 ratio steering arm. There are probably better places to spend the money, your mileage may vary.
