want to here what you guys do about getting your head turned purple by the sun driving toppless i tried hats but lost three over 45 mph i had a skull cap but lost it at 60 mph i guess i should invest in a bottle of sun sreen

I wear a ball cap as tight as I can stand it. I have a tall windshield and wind-wings, so little buffeting in the driver's position. I HAVE had the occasional crosswind tug at the hat, but haven't lost one yet. I have to take off the cap once in awhile to relieve the headache, but it's better than a third degree sunburn!

Never really gave it much thought, but I'll have to when I get my 27T finished. A cheap bike helmet would work since it has a chin strap. Maybe we could invent a baseball hat with a chin strap!!!!!:kiltdance:

Most sporting goods or marine stores sell a lanyard with an alligator clip on each end. One Clip to hat and one clip to your collar.

Have not lost one since I started using one, after a dreadful hat accident in Jamacia.

Snoopy Hat

We just use the standard Do-Rag type skull cap. The ones with an elastic band work the best as they sinch down tight. Got a new one ready for the Nats this week!

Don't think you'll need one at the Nats this week. A good rain suit with hood might be in order.

Never know..the forecast for the weekend has changed for the better--Mid 70's and sunny with only a 20% chance of showers. But as I said to T-Odd earlier in the week, this is the heartland, the weather changes on the hour!

How bad were yesterday morning's thunderstorms? We really got smacked, here. No hail, thank Goodness, but we were taking on rain at the rate of 3" an hour. 56% of the month's rainfall came yesterday morning.

The weekend is looking smart. I'm loving how those temperatures are dropping back into the mid-70's.

It rained hard here just about all day, but nothing like 3-4". Just enough to stay wet.

Ron, 24 hours ago, the sky here was black as pitch, the trees were laid over in the wind and it was pouring down rain like the Great Deluge. Some areas down near Indy took a lot of hail, well over golf ball size. I can't get to the images straight away, but as soon as I can get to them, I'll post some images to show you some of the street flooding.

What in perdition is this rain stuff? I heard a rumor that water could fall from the sky, but I no longer believe in fairy tales.

Way back when I had my long car, I was at Gatlinburg Tn. for a rod run and had a leather guy put a chin strap on one of his leather visors. That REALLY confused him! I had hair to fight the sun then!
