I was doing some reading on page 19 of frames chassis and found Youngsters frame that he did and thought maybe he can repost the pics and how he did it the frame. I think a lot of the new members would enjoy the thread and be help full to them. Youngster nice job.

Until Ron sees this maybe I can start the ball rolling for you. If you are talking about how to taper rectangular tubing front rails, I did that on my current rpu project, and here is what I did. The tubing I used is 2 x 4 x 3/16 and I wanted the front to taper down to 3 inches to look a little sleeker and to work with the 3 inch front crossmember I wanted to use. So I marked off a wedge shaped section that started at one inch and tapered down to zero, and I make that pie cut section 3 feet long so the taper would be more gradual.

You can see in the picture below my chalk marks of what was going to get cut out. I used the bandsaw to remove that portion, then clamped the tubing back down to close up that section. After welding and grinding smooth you can't see that anything was removed and I got the taper I needed. Hope this helps a little while we are waiting for Ron to see this thread.

Here are the rails after welding up that cutout portion. It is just a subtle change but a little less bulky looking than just having a 4 inch wide piece all the way to the front.
