So my bodie is in paint right now and will be done in a week. Its a fiberglass body and hand built frame.. I've heard horror stories title ling both ways.. Do it as a custom street rod thru dmv and get a vin, and also bad stories for buying a title from a swap meet and then getting in trouble..any, word of advice on which way to go .. I've been busting for 6 months 7 hours a night after work and would provably commite suicide.. By driving the car off a cliff if I could NT drive it this summer.. Thanks guys

I live in Illinois and my bucket was titled back in 67 so I'm sure the process I had to go through won't be the same as what you're going to face. Rather then listen to others horror stories or trying to find answers online I'd go directly to your local "Secretary Of States" office and speak with the people that will be handling your paperwork. If you live in a heavily populated area you will probably have a couple of the offices around you, try asking at a couple of them, bring some pictures with you so they're clear on what you're asking about and I'll bet you get different answers. When you find someone that seems interested in helping you ask them exactly what paperwork they are going to want, when they are going to want to see the car and what days of the month their office is less busy. Then when you have your stuff together try and get back to that same person on a slower day when they won't be rushed and begin the process.
