Today is the day for us to honor those that have defended our freedoms. All who served gave some and some gave all. I would like to say thank you to my brothers and sisters who served and also thank those of you that have supported our service. I had the honor of serving 26 years in the Submarine Service with some great people and wouldn't change a thing.

Bubblehead...Now I understand the name! I went to a Veteran's breakfast this morning and ended up sitting with a table full of Navy Vets. One was a Korean War submariner and another was a later area sub man. Being a VN Army helicopter Vet I hope I didn't embarrass them to bad. They didn't try to drown or torpedo me so I take that as a good sign. Thanks for your service!

While I am a civilian, my Grandfather took a bullet in the mouth during WWII. He received a purple heart for his injuries, then settled down to a nice quiet life raising my mother and uncle. He never talked about the war and I was once scolded as a child when I asked him about it. Before he died, he wrote a memoire for his grandchildren blaming himself for his injuries. He stated that as a scout, his job was to go out ahead of the troops and locate the position of the enemy. He said that he "zigged when he should have zagged" and was then shot. Since then, I have always admired our soldiers who go through hell defending our country's interests. Peace to you both and thank you for your service for us civilians!!

Any head/mouth bullet wound you survive puts you in a rather rare and unique club. You should be proud of him!
