TP 23T Chassis Serial Number

Can any of you folks decode my newly acquired Total Performance bucket's chassis serial number? I'm trying to find out exactly what I have, and assume it's fairly old, maybe mid '70's, has a BBC/T-400. I believe the rear is a full size '63 GM car unit from the casting numbers on the center section. I have a Texas title, but no MCO or receipts.

Serial number TP23T744K.

Thanks, Larry

I spoke with Jim just yesterday ordering a top and side steps, nice guy and very informative. I'll send him an email, hate to bother someone at work with trivial stuff.

Thanks, Larry

I have a TP frame and I'm guessing the numbers are serial numbers, but with a Texas title, you shouldn't need anything else to get the T registered.

If you have a title it should be smooth sailing. The big hassle is getting the title and that is when you need all the receipts.

I had no problem getting the title transferred and registered at a '23. I'm just curious about the car's history, figured the chassis serial number would tell me that. And yes, the chassis # is used by DMV as the VIN.

The funny thing is, the original data plate was missing from the frame. I went to Pet Smart, bought a dog tag shapped name tag, walked over to their embossing machine and laser cut the serial number into the tag. Took it home, pop riveted it to the frame rail and off to the inspection station. No questions asked, VIN verified and I was on my way to happy motoring after a couple of safety item checks, no parking brake, turn signals, high beams needed, only one tail light, etc., as it was titled as a '23. I did have to do an acceleration and panic brake/stopping distance test in the parking lot, that was a hoot! :)
