Made it to Tucson so far for the night.....
Dallas tomorrow...

The drive from Tucson to Dallas will be the longest four days of your life. You hit the New Mexico - Texas state line and think you're almost there. But it takes another 3 days and 22 hours to get to Dallas.

There always seems to be some stretches of road that can really beat a guy up. I always get a kick out of the people who are driving from this area to Florida. They cross the Tennessee - Georgia state line and start celebrating, because they're almost to Florida. They don't realize it takes another three days to drive through Georgia.

Coming north on I-65, the stretch of some 70 miles from the Ohio River to Columbus, IN? That section of road seems to take about six hours to cover. And day or night doesn't matter, it's also the most hypnotic stretch of interstate in the country. You are going to be fighting off sleep, as you drive those 70 miles.

Mike,

BTDT, more times than I care to remember.

The run on I80 through Nebraska is like that except it actually takes 7 hours... And that DAMN hill with the radio tower on top that I always seem to encounter in the middle of the night,

during a thunderstorm

and I forgot my welding goggles...

AGAIN!

I eventually pull into my Mom's driveway in the mountains of Colorado and all is forgotten - 'til the drive home...

Gave up and staying in Sonora for the night....
Long day tomorrow also...here to Pensacola,fl.
