What would this bracket be used for?

Looks like a tie down attachment point. Is there one on the opposite side ? or marks from one?
Maybe the prior owner had a "Gremlin Bell" on it. LOL
Just unscrew it if it's not in use.

There is one on the other side. I think you’re right about tie down. This T may have been a trailer queen at one time. Thanks for the help.
