My Radiator Shell

Got my radiator shell. It's nice. Even for plain. But I'm having a problem at the top. I don't have a top fill neck. So I don't have anything at the top to support the shell and it tilts forward a bit and wobbles. I know with the car and running, it's going to rattle.

And what can use for a grill. What would be the best way to attact something.
I will be powder coating it.

Hi Chris,
With the 4 bolts on the bottom flange tight to a solid radiator tab, the top of the shell should be pretty stout. Our Glass shell flexes much more then the steel ones.
I think I would try to locate the upper part of the shell with a channel(s) that would straddle the upper radiator tank with rubber pads between the two...similar to a normal lower, later model, radiator cradle.
As far as a grill, that's your choice..use what you like. to attach that may require you to move the shell forward a tad, the T radiator did not use a screen/grill, just make sure whatever you use does not damage the radiator.

You were right. I got it mounted today and the top is tight.
I found some polished stainless steel wire mesh for the grill.

Chris you can buy the fake filler neck from speedway motors then get the wings or bone top with or without moto meter lots of choices. I got the wings and moto but with a working radiator its a lousy design imho. Uses shims under it to line up the wings straight but doesnt line up for crap. both me and my buddy had to go with a different top that didnt have to be straight when seated.. So more money waisted lol..

I used two "O" rings one between motometer and one in filler cap works great.

Similar to what Dirt-T did, I used a thick flat rubber washer and works well.

Hmmm never thought of a o ring or rubber washer . I just used the flat shim washer and need to find something wide enough to tighten up the chrome cap without scratching the pee out of it. Used a plastic sliding clamp but couldnt get it super tight so it still had some bubbles after car was running for a while. Thanks for the tip
