No this is the AA/Wallbanger that Dan bought off me. I had the chassis straightened, Allan Ross repaired the body and I kept the engine box and the full floater race diff. Dan got my spare street diff and new rear rims and a spare 454 I had sitting around. Those rims are on Julies bucket now...

Hey are any of you guys able to help me a bit? The Ford motor I fitted has a real ugly intake manifold with the throttle body mounted off the left hand side. Ford have some later intakes that I can get an adaptor for, on their Cyclone engines, that will put the throttle body out the front...

That pikky was taken about 25 years ago (tho those front rims were on it when I got the car). Its currently undergoing a rebirth - the Ford motor is in, the rear guards got an extra 3 inches each side so I can fit 15*10 rims inside the guards and the 31 tall tyres completely fill the guard...

Part of the trade for my bucket was a 27 T roadster that Dan got a good deal on. So I need to get that one done as my lovely wife wants a "nice cruiser" instead of another race car styled bucket. Its now got the Australian 5.4 quad cam engine in it. Thats like the 5.4 Ford truck engine with...

Im pretty disappointed in our guys efforts. Dan (Burger Boy) rings me up from time to time to say its burger time and I havent yet seen him meet a burger he didnt want to get up and personal with. I would have backed him to nail that pancake and then to look ravenously for another one. Now...

    Full manuall trans

I ran full manual valve bodied powerglides (one with a linelock and the second one with both transbrake and with linelock) on the street behind blown BBCs (454 to start with then upgraded to 540). It was just fine on the street, so if you want to row gears without the hassle of a clutch, its a...

Theres no Kiwis who have seen pancakes that big. But being the good folk they are, those two wont have stopped till they they emptied their plates - well before the heartburn gets them

    Hello from New Zealand

Hi Justin, I was here some years ago and the log in system changed and I upgraded my computer and lost contact. But I just found my way back. Is your bucket the "Driveline Specialists" one that was in Christchurch? I still have the engine box and diff from my bucket that I banged into the...

    Change of engine direction

Dan I ran zoomies on my blown BBC in my bucket and I just couldnt get them quiet enough so I could talk to or listen to my passenger (usually was my wife), and that made for a bad outcome for me. They looked cool with the 6 point cage and the wheelie bars tho. But not so nice for a 150 mile drive.

    Radiator mounting opinions wanted

So how did you get on lowering your radiator? If its still in the "thinking bout how to do it stage" I can go to my workshop and do some measurements on my set up. Mine is a strap of steel that the radiator sits on, which sits below the lower chassis rail. When we needed a taller radiator (was...

    Radiator for 454

Im running a blown BBC and am onto my third radiator. Current one works a treat, and I have an electric waterpump and an electric fan. A couple of observations from my experiences (tho Im in New Zealand, water still boils at the same temp as it does in the USA) A bucket radiator is limited in...

    Best Gear Ratio

I ran a 540 cube blown BBC with 4.56 gears in the rear, with 31.5 tall tyres. I dreamed of getting up to 4mpg like Ron did with his blown bucket :) I was well under 3mpg, but a pair of 1250 dominators really werent good street carbs either. Seriously tho, with a 3 speed non o/d box and 30-33...

Is their any options other than using clevises

I have double sheared bat wings on my axle and its also double sheared at the chassis end. And the rear ladderbars are double sheared at both ends with a safety fitting on the front end. At the attachment to the batwings, I have a spherical rod end on the end of the 4 bars. And my 4 bars are...

    wheelie bars

I ran a 671 blown 540 in my bucket and never once lifted the tyres on the public streets. Even with slicks the tyres didnt come up much on the dragstrip either. I did run a high 9 at 145mph off a lousy 2.1 60ft. A good mate recently took his 671 blown 383 bucket to our local track and, on...

    Ted Brown

RIP Ted Brown. A T Bucket pioneer and all round knowledgable dude. Never met him in person, but did exchange emails regarding the handling issues on my bucket, and old time drag racing in general. I feel like I have lost a friend.

had any one built the ccr frame and have strep by step photos?

a 118 chassis, and a 283 really shouldnt be a wheelstanding nightmare at all, unless its poorly set up, and you are buzzing the motor to 8000 revs at the traffic lights. I would think some street shocks will be just fine. My bucket ran a blown 454 then a blown 540 and never lifted the tyres on...

    Spring behind wishbone front spring

Was on FB the other day and saw pikkys of Ted Browns bucket front end. Hes always advocated for a very long spring (and hes done over 250,000 miles in the car so hes an authority on stuff like that). And he designed the CCR chassis so he knows stuff :-)...

    Blowers/superchargers

I ran my cast crank 454 with stock tho shotpeined rods and heavy TRW blower pistons to 6800 rpm and ran as quick as 10.2@132mph. I raced it for four summers and also did 5000 miles on the street with it. The crank was double keyway'd and the comp ratio was 7.63:1. It eventually died on a dyno...
