    RE:Our School Project Begins

Our 27 T went to it's first Expo called WE3 sponsored by Polk Count FL Work Force Education. It is not running but very close. Audience was about 8000 Elementary and Middle School Students. It lasted three days, my voice barely lasted one. We discovered we need to shorten our steering arm...

Show me your door latch!School Project

I should have said..."We have the Universal door LATCH from Speedway." Many of you guys don't use doors and other may use the Bear Claw products. Hasn't someone used this latch? Lee

Show me your door latch!School Project

I am looking for more detailed pics. We have the Universal door from Speedway. I am particularly interested in how you keep the latch from rubbing on the body. I have the striker but would like to see how the meet. If you show me we can figure something out. Thanks Lee

    Tube Frame Track T

I checked out that utube link on the Daimler V8 in UK dragster...nice. Since it is so hard to get how about a retired 4 cylinder Offy! Your car came out great. I hope we will have our Electric 27 T running in just a few days. The kids and adults at school love the Track T nose. Your car would...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

One of the things we wanted to do as built this 27 T was to save space in the interior by not have a bell housing and conventional flywheel. We made a small 3.5" thick flywheel only the size of the standard clutch hub...without the clutch disc. With the electric motor torque all we will use is...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

This is an interesting article that goes with our choice of power at least for a school project! It was in today's morning news...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

Thanks Keeper. I hope this is our year to start showing it off even before paint and upholstery if it is running. My Fantastic Mother in-law lives just north of you in Midland, Ontario.

    RE:Our School Project Begins

We are half way through the first quarter of the school year. Due to student schedules I had extra time to organize and direct work and planning for our Electric '27 T. We have ideas for our transmission tunnel. Made our gear shift lever on our Hurst shifter on Ford top loader 3 speed come up...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

Hey meangreen I did not mean to leave you hanging. It is Summer time, out of school but workin' on the Honey Do list. Last year 2012/2013 we just got little things done. We I thought we had our DIY steering column done but then realized the steering we bought purchased is too big. We are using...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

Thanks for the Invite. First that tube chassis Track T of your is great. After I read your thread I had to check out that Electrathon racing and I now have a link. My wife can't wait for me to finish the project I am working on now. Since there is no cooling system on this electric car we are...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

Summer is Here! This school year was like a honeymoon without the fun stuff. We have a large shop which I share with another instructor that has been there for years. You don't move into somebody else's house and take over. So we have been getting used to working with each other. But I have to...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

My question was confusing. The floor is 3/4" thick composite wood made for flooring. Heavy and strong. the foam is to reinforce the fiberglass body and to create a panel behind the seat. Lee

    RE:Our School Project Begins

Just a quick question. Is two layers of cloth on both sides of the 3/4" floor enought with extra matte in the edges to tie floor to body enough and how about two layers on top of the foam since there is no real wood?

    RE:Our School Project Begins

For the Holiday break I brought the T body home to glass the floor and Foam/Wood the rest of the body. I just found out I bought the cloth by the foot and not yard. As I recalculated I believe a 10yd. roll shoud finish the job plus what the school already bought. Only prob is I'll havt to buy it...

    Mike's 27 T Build.

Mike I like the Ford in a Ford. My schools project car is also a Spirit 27. I think it will be more comfortable. Man all those boxes look familar too! Lee

    Fiberglass over spray foam?

I tried the Great Stuff for filling large voids to build up about one inch on a Track T nose to get it to match the hood and my result was not as good. Perhaps I did not let it cure long enough. I was able to cut it shape etc. But when I put the fiberglass matte on it, most of it collapsed or...

    RE:Our School Project Begins

Here are a couple of pics of the Transmission crossmember. We ran out of 3/16 flat and took a Ford Econlone crossmember and cut sections out of that and ended up with this. All we need now is the removable part that will connect the two side underneath the OEM mount.

    RE:Our School Project Begins

Here I found a picture of our Plasma CAD cut panhard rod installed. The other pictures are of our welding shop and auto shop on open house afternoon. Thats my wife and son with me. The students welded it on slightly crooked but under the car or from behind the car I dont think it will be very...
