    Relocating the alternator...options?

I had to make some bracket mods and some temporary spacers but it works. Permanent spacers will either be black or stainless. I like that driveshaft setup...wouldn't work in my case though.

    Zoomies pros and cons

That's a little harsh and uncalled for. I said I liked the look. Each pipe would have a baffle as mentioned in my opener. I'm looking for other pros and cons. I'm running a cammed 400 SBC at 9:1 compression. With my current side pipes (unsupported by anything but the mounting flanges) , I'm...

    Zoomies pros and cons

I've been looking into throwing on some zoomies and would like to hear some pros and cons. I've read that they are louder even when baffles are installed, but other insights would be greatly appreciated. I just like the look!

    Before and after

I put the other radiator hose back on....looks better. When you're right, you're right . Thanks for the input.

Cutting a flex braided radiator hose?

What was on there leaked. The guy that had it before me used a 1.75 ID hose on a 1.5 OD pipe by adding another short piece of smaller diameter hose between them....it didn't work very well.

Cutting a flex braided radiator hose?

I was actually talking about the hose itself. With that spiral groove going the length of the hose, I was unsure if I could get it to seal properly under the hose clamp .

Cutting a flex braided radiator hose?

I bought a flexable braided upper radiator hose for my T but it's too long....about 6 inches or so. If I cut that much off, it will be back where the spiral groove and spring are. Will it still deal if I cut it that far back? My opinion is no, but anyone ever done this successfully?

    Before and after

Is that with the vacuum from the manifold or disconnected from the distributor?

    Before and after

I hope it runs even better! Rain all day tomorrow so the test flight won't be until at least tuesday.

    Before and after

Not sure yet....depends on the wire guides I choose or make. I've seen a couple articles about that...what makes it "more driveable "? I've also seen articles about disconnecting it completely but I'm not sure of the advantages to either.

    Before and after

I also have new red spark plug wires to to cut to length and make it a bit neater, but I still want to do something different with the spark plug wire guides first so I'll know how long to make them. I'm also toying with the idea of zoomies...

    Before and after

I bought it at Speedway for about $42 along with the new distributor cap...I hated that brown color. I painted the Accel coil with black metallic paint. The lower braided hose wont get here until this Friday. As far as debris getting in the alternator, that is a concern, but I plan on blowing it...

    Before and after

I was hoping someone would ask that question...it makes me feel less guilty about using the one I bought. It is a rubber hose with stainless braid, anodized ends, and hose clamps. Here is another 'after' pic:

    Before and after

I installed some upgrades to my T.... Before: After: All I need is the V belt and I'm ready to roll again.

People ask me all the time..."what kind of gas mileage do you get?" I reply with the same aforementioned bumper sticker comments..."it's smiles per gallon", "I burn gas and rubber", "in a hotrod?...why check?" But, in reality i get around 12...only because I can't keep my foot out of it. :)

    Relocating the alternator...options?

    I bought a Denso V 90 amp if I remember correctly.

    Relocating the alternator...options?

I ordered a chrome mini alternator this morning (along with a bunch of other shiny goodies ). I will have to modify the relocation bracket either by trimming an inch off the slotted end or adding on to the mounting end to lower it. One way or another it is getting moved.

    Relocating the alternator...options?

My alternator is a full size chrome 100 amp model. It is currently mounted on top on the drivers side but that takes away from the appearance of the engine IMO. I bought a relocation bracket kit for the lower drivers side but it hits the frame and wont allow any adjustments for belt tension...
