gas filler

Trying to slide the Cool Cap filler tube through the lid into the gas tank.
How do I seat the the o-ring on the filler cap to the opening in the gas tank. Once the lid is secured, how do I know the o-rings slid into the opening in the gas tank?

Are you talking about the 1/2 in wide rubber band?If so i put the rubber into the tank neck and installed the deck lid then greased up the neck of the cool cap then wiggled it into place if it miss's it will jam(at least it did for me)then i screwed the cap down into the lid.Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
I tried to dry fit the Cool Cap before securing the lid and the o-ring kept sliding up the filler tube. But you're idea sounds good.
