MSO for the Body

I have a t-bucket and the body was bought from Speedway Motors about 30 years ago. It has been bought and sold couple of times before I bought it. The problem now is that I'm trying to license it and the DMV needs a MSO number. I contacted Speedway Motors and they can't help me. Is there something else that I can do or list it under to get it licensed? Please Help.

It might help to know what state you are in, maybe someone here has run into the same issue in your state and knows
how to deal with this. I've never heard of needing an MSO for a body, only some proof of ownership, which you typically
need for all major components, frame, body, engine, trans etc.
