The North Texas T-Buckets (NTTB) is in the preliminary planning stages of holding a mini-Nationals next April 8-9 in Shreveport Louisiana. We have partnered with the Red River Street Rod Association to hold a joint function. The Red River Street Rod Association is a very well structured and organized group that has held over 37 “reunion” events. They have already obtained a host hotel and corporate sponsors and printed flyers and registration forms. They are willing to modify the flyers to include our proposed mini-nats.
Before the NTTB commits too far into this joint venture, we would like to take a short survey as to the interest in attending such an event. Before we get to the survey, you have to be made aware that there is a $25 pre-registration fee or $30 registration the day of the event. Free event T-Shirts and lunch buffet tickets go to the first 100 pre-registrants and all proceeds are donated to charity*. There are cash awards to the top 5 pre & post 1949 vehicles, real ones or replicas. There is discount lodging available from the host hotel which also happens to be a casino. Currently, the host hotel is quoting $109 per night for a room, but we hope to get that rate lower by offering more attendance. There is ample parking for the car show as well as trailer parking for those who require it. We have the option of printing and selling T-Bucket mini-nats T-shirts that will go for about $10 each. Registration will start at 4:00 pm Friday, April 8 and the show will run on Saturday, April 9 from 10:00 am to around 2:00 pm with awards immediately after. There will be a pizza party Friday evening and a cruise afterwards. We are planning a another cruise Saturday after the awards.
*The Red River Street Rod Association will donate their portion of the proceeds to a charity of their choice and we will have the option of donating our portion of the proceeds to a charity of our choosing.
We are asking for your input to see if there is enough interest and if we need to go back to the hotel to negotiate more rooms at a more reduced rate, more buffet tickets, more give-aways from sponsors, etc.
Now, the survey:
1. Would you be inclined to attend a joint car show\reunion\mini-nats in Shreveport Louisiana next April 8-9, 2011 that requires a $25 pre-registration fee\$30 registration fee on day of event, with proceeds going to charity? … yes or no
2. Would you be staying overnight requiring a hotel room? … yes or no
3. Will you need trailer parking? … yes or no
4. Would you be interested in purchasing a mini-nats T-shirt for about $10 … yes or no

Please give this your consideration and respond back so that we can get the results of the survey back to the Red River Street Rod Association.

Should there be any questions, please advise.

Dont suppose you guys would spring for a couple of air tickets from the UK plus transport of a T? LOL

Just wish I could be there

Gerry

Gerry, a few years ago if everyone chipped in a couple bucks it would have been easy...

Lisa just got back from London, and her plane tickets were the biggest expense of her three week vacation IIRC.

BUT we have started making plans to possibly fly that direction next year... I need to get to Scotland at least once in my life.

(not going to show a pic of me in my Kilt and Glengarry)

I was only joking. Remember for next time I am only 40 miles from London. Before you come let me know. There will be money to save.
By the way, everyone I have ever told to go to Scotland including E Europeans, American etc have always thanked me because they loved it.
Personally coming from the very other end of the UK (Lands End in Cornwall) I think they are all missing out on the best of the UK. there again I am a bit biased.

I don't know at this time. If I'm in TX then I can probably make the run up there. However if I'm in Vegas I won't be able too.

Gerry, I completely understood the joking BUT (just putting this out there) I'd be happy to toss in a few assistance bucks in case you wanted to take a trip o'er the big pond and needed a little bit of incentive ;) ... it IS quite an expense after all. Heck, you might even find yourself behind the wheel of some tetanus-trap called Kletus driving on the wrong side of the road with bugs in your teeth HAHA! I'm good with the peer pressure?

Thats such a kind offer but I could nt do such a thing. I will get to the US again sometime (been there over 30 times in my career working for a Company out of Eightfour PA) . The beers are on me when I get to drive on the wrong side of the road again.

Very appreciative Gerry

If I am not working I would love to attend.

I would be staying in a hotel but maybe not the casino hotel.

I definitely would need trailer parking. BIG trailer parking.

For ten bucks I could buy a shirt or two if they are not ugly and they better be available in 3X.

I forgot to ask, is there a way to get on an emailing list or something? Any shows they are having that may be Ford related I can pass on to our local Ford and Mustang club.

Just wondering if the Mini Nats are going to be at this show? Never heard anything else about this and the show flyer doesn't mention it.

We may go anyhow as it's in easy driving distance.

Yes. This is a combined venture between the two clubs. Some of the fliers were printed before the deal was finalized.
