What a shame! I had a condo in Lauderdale at the north end of the beach, in the late 70s - early 80s. The old mom and pop party places have been replaced with a huge Marriott complex, the topless waitress donut shop is gone, curfew on the beach, no campfires, no all night blanket parties, no sand fleas to get rid of. You could get high on the smoke drifting from the next party, even if you didn't smoke.
