Pedal Return Spring

Should I use a spring meant to be used for brake pedal return or would an old appliance spring work? The reason I'm questioning this is there's probably a tension difference.

I don't think it makes any difference to the spring. Should work fine.

you shouldn't really need a spring ........the master cyl should fully return it .....and brake light switch should be adjustable my opinion
