Resinator, how tall is the front of the cross bar in your door substructure? And in the long body, how far is it from the base of the kick up?

Sorry Fred, I have not been on here for a few days.

4 3/4" - 5" off the floor to the top of the cross tube.
16 3/8" - 16 1/2" from the kick base/floor inside the body to the center of the tube

If it's removed, will the door structure be effected?

Yes, It's part of the design to keep the door latch striker solid.
I think you could cut out the top cross bar and build a new one to replace it that will shape around your seats without an issue.
