Why is my size of post so large

When I make a post, the amount of "dead" space is huge. How can I reduce the size of my post to just what I have typed?

For what it is worth, I'm not seeing any dead space. You may want to spend some time reading threads in the Support Forum, as well.

Thanks Mike, it's all ironed out at my end with IE8.
