Is a 4.5" rim too wide for this tire?? Looking for some skinnys for the bucket.
Thanks,

Steve

Steve, I'm no wheel & tire expert, but I would say yes, they're too wide. I have the 125R/15s on 3.5" wheels, and I'd say that's about as wide as you should go. I read somewhere that the wheel width should be pretty close to the tread width of the tire. I just measured my tires, and the tread width is right at 3.5".

Thanks Lee you confirmed my thoughts too.
Take care.

I'd call Coker and ask them. They would be the experts on old or odd size tires. I would say yes a 125 would fit on a 4.5" rim, but not any bigger.

And if the wheel is wider than the tire, it will get scraped when you hit a curb, etc. I know...

Coker said a 145 tire would be needed with a 4.5" rim. a 125 tire needs a 3.5" rim. Thanks for the responses.
