How well attended are these events typically? Like how many cars on average?

Average car count is about 80 but I have been to them in the 125 range and as low as 55 Cars this year here in Artesia NM.................A lot depends on the location for sure......But the FAMILY damn sure has a bunch of FUN when we get together.........Lots iof Crusing and Benchracing........O' Yes don't forget lots of Eating along with LOTS of ICE CREAM..........Come on down.............
There is nothing like a NTBA event (especially their Nationals). So much fun and great bucket family time.

"We have had a few people asking about our event at the Ocala Gator Fun Run, and we are still working on it, but this is what we have so far:
Tuesday we will be going to the E-One Fire Truck assembly plant and then driving through Lake Weir.
Wednesday we will be going to the National Parts Depot and then having lunch at Monkey Island.
Thursday we will be driving to Daytona Beach Raceway and check out the museum, then have lunch at Racing's North Turn Beach Bar and Grille.
Friday we will be going to Don Garlits' Museum and then driving to Gainesville to have lunch at the Ford’s Garage.
Saturday we’re going to tour Burnyzz American Classic Horsepower Museum and Restoration then driving to Crystal River for lunch .

Speaking only for myself, I'm not typically a joiner, more of a Lone Wolf.
Second, 50 bucks to join. Budget goes to the car first, sorry.
Third, the forum is old school. No issue with that, but it has very little engagement. This place is miles ahead in style and engagement of members.
When I wanted to find out more about a meet last year, I got more info here and answers, compared to the site of the host. I get the whole 'be the change you want to see' but you, @Spanky and @WebMistress provide a more welcoming, active place to hang out.
under General, there are only 2 categories that have a post from 2026.
under the AZ chapter (my location), the last post was 2017.
Maybe they are all on FB or something. I'm sure there is a lot of content in past posts.
But if all I get is a t-shirt and a decal for my money, I'd rather spend it here and support you fine folks.

The NTBA needs a whole new website. It needs better software like we have here, called Xenforo. What they are using now is free software called phpBB. I pretty damn sure they have the money, so that's not the problem. It also needs to be compatible with smart phones surfers.

Well, if the membership tends older and there is little engagement, I can see the priority wouldn't be to revamp a working site. Better to work on meets and such.
I know from being on other forums that migrating is not simple, stuff doesn't translate and things get lost.
Again, just my outsider view. Not trying to tell them how to run their business.

To clarify a couple of things about the NTBA and their website.
Yes, the site can use an overhaul, but the budget is just not there.
I know this because I am the WebMistress there as well and had talks with the executive about changing over to Xenforo. Unfortunately, I just cannot afford to donate the amount of time it would take to get the site upgraded and change the software. Wish I could.
As for engagement, the more people who post & comment encourages more people to post & comment. I know that from running this place. It is really hard to keep engagement up, and that is why we are so thankful for all of you.

I just went over and it seems I could sign up without being a member. However, I still am just getting my feet wet here, so to speak so I'll just hang here until I feel the need to be a busybody in yet another place!

In September of 2020 the NTBA board voted to move the forum to Xenforo with my help. They were asking how to get me the credit card number safely so I could start making purchases. But then something happened and they did a 180 on me after I put in hours of work to research and create a report for them to comment on.
I have the emails to prove my claims.
I don't know when you are referring to, but they certainly had the money back in 2020.

I am guessing that you were the one who was going to work with me to get everything moved over to Xenforo a few years back. I don't know why it was decided to not proceed, maybe it was the timing.
All I know is I recently did do a ton of work to help them change over the online credit card processing for the new Treasurer and did not charge anything extra for my time to help them out. Doing a complete changeover to new software and all the issues that may cause would be a lot more time consuming.
Curious as to why you prefer Xenforo so much more than phpbb?
Yes, you can be a member on their forums for free. I believe you only need to be a member for the events. I think it has to do with their insurance, but don't quote me.
