Adjusting headlights.

How did everyone adjust the headlights? I used to wait for a nice dark moonless night and head for the country, find a road with no traffic, cover one light and adjust the other one until it had a nice pattern. But i don't think that's a viable option with the T-Bucket.

I parked my truck about 20 feet away from my garage door, turned on the headlights and marked the pattern on the garage door with blue painters tape and marked where the tires were on the driveway. Then I parked my T in the same spot and aimed the headlights to form the same pattern on the garage door. It sounds crazy, but it worked.

That's exactly what I plan to do. Back when I was broke and getting out of debt my wife wrecked our Geo Metro(RIP)in the front. I had an extra hood and bumper, but didn't have any extra lights. But I did have access to the same headlights most of us are using on our T-buckets. It looked strange and the guys at work thought I'd lost my mind, but the lights worked and I drove that car for almost 2 more years. (Who's laughing now with the paid for house, cars and building my dream.) To line up the lights I used the front wall of my house.

My problem is i live in town. If i parked it 25 feet from my garage door it would be in the middle of the street. I'm thinking that might not be such a good idea. I thought about going to the shopping center down the street and using the cement wall. Even though i would only use tape i can see myself being busted for graffiti. The Fresno PD has no sense of humor.

I sure miss living in the the country.

I also use a wall or door just to get them a bit even at the start, then have my Wife or a friend drive it at night towards me, while I am in another car heading at my new setting, to be sure it does not bother my eyes, as with being too high or bright, that is the main thing I want in the end, high beams have plenty of light for the country roads...
