John, you're especially caught up in the thick of the controversy, because of Steve Jobs' dislike of Flash. The bottom line is that Flash works quite well on a PC, using a mouse. But Jobs wanted you to carry your computer in your pocket, using a touch screen, rather than a mouse. And since a touch screen cannot create mouse rollovers, Flash was no longer any good for Jobs.

here for a bit of history on the rammie between Apple and Flash. This was why I offered the suggestion to use Firefox as your browser, because you can run Flash as a Firefox extension. Chrome also has a Flash extension. You see, there are ways around your problem, but it will require leaving Safari behind.
I've always joked that Steve Jobs' life didn't flash before his eyes, when he dies, because he refused to have anything to do with Flash.
Seriously, look into binning Safari and using another browser and you will likely find most of your problems will disappear. But as long as you use iStuff, you will have problems with Flash-related sites. At least until HTML5 takes over, but be forewarned your old browser will not adequately render HTML5.
