An uninvited houseguest for EX JUNK

WOW, I pity you! If it'll make you feel any better, we had a cold snap here on New Year's day, it only reached a high of 67 degrees. But if you want to warm up a bit, come on down.

Jim

It's been snowing non stop here since Tuesday, they say it might stop by tonight. Drifts are over 24", my neighbors say I'm crazy because I have a 34" 13hp snowblower but when it gets like this they all want to borrow it.

We make snow by putting ice cubes in a blender. Then all you have to do is add triple sec, lime juice and tequila. I have no idea what that blower thing is all about. (Sunny and 75 degrees)

Can't be true.......all those renown scientists insist that we are all suffering from extreme global warming. Just think about it...if not for global warming it would have been much, much colder. As Frank Barone often said..."Suck it up Nancy". Snow and 18 here in St. Louis...colder tomorrow. Sure am glad that it's going to be warmer than it would have been.

Well, I realize there is some melting of Arctic ice, but as for global warming? I'm not buying whatever it is they are trying to sell. If global warming were a real problem, then why is the Antarctic sea ice extent setting new records for growth? Hello?? This is just another diversionary topic, thrown at everyone by a deceiving press. When I see articles on global warning on page one, I know the real news will be hidden, back around page seven.

Mike, I agree. It's all about research grant money and wealth redistribution. They even say now that the record cold is due to global warming!!! They all think we are stupid. The vast majority of so-called climate scientists have no credentials in that field. Just because those wackos agree with each other doesn't make it true. Nature doesn't listen to them so why should we? The earth has gone through many warming-cooling cycles, most all of them before humans even existed.

I woke up this morning to -8 degrees and snow. The snow and temperatures don't seem that bad to me when there are still people without power in the capital city due to the ice storm that rolled through 14 days ago. When that storm hit I believe the number of people that were without power in the state was around 600 k. The last reported number was around 300-500 people still without power.

-3 here this morning with 18" of snow on the ground. I had to take the snowblower into the yard last night in order to clear out an area for the dogs. Now they're saying it could go to -18 Sunday night.

I ran to the laundromat (long story, don't ask! ) and the grocery store, early this morning. It was -3°, with a wind chill of -17°. It's now down to -9°.

We've 5" of snow on the ground, with up to another 8" expected on Sunday. A low of -15° on Sunday night, with a high of -13 on Monday. They are saying we'll see wind chill numbers between -30° and -40°. The bad news is if we do get that snow on Sunday, we'll be out in those miserable conditions, moving snow all night. I'm not looking forward to it.

Yes it is cold here in Artesia this morning 24 degrees and only going to get to 65 today.........sorry to hear about all them minus temps .........I think I will heat up the shop today so I can paint the body.........

I know I am a smart a*s.........probably going to be in the 30s for highs on Sunday & Monday........

Mike

I'm not so sure Jim's place is the best option. I follow the weather in that area due to my parents living in Lakeland. Some of the overnight lows have been cold as well and dipping into the 30's. I guess the only thing missing is the white stuff. I guess if Jim would introduce us to some of those Hooter girls to help us through the cold spells we could make it work.

I dunno, Jimbo, if we get those -45° wind chill numbers they are predicting, 30° temperatures are sounding pretty nice.

It started snowing here, about 90 minutes ago. They are saying it is going to crank up to a point where we will be seeing an inch an hour, by noon. :x3: Below is the most recent forecast, which was only changed to upgrade us from the 8-12" band, to getting 12"-plus. And Purdue is already calling, wanting people to come in as much as 4 hours early, to start moving snow. Aye. Right. I figure I will get to shovel more than my share, so I will be going in at 10:30, thank you very much.

Mike,
Yes were in that 14 inch area as well. Take it easy with that snow shoveling and the negative temperatures that are to follow.
