Much nicer with the alternator down below! It's surely to pickup more road debris, but I've never had a problem.

Is the radiator hose the real deal or is it cosmetic?

Who's that in the back, your x wife that said no to a TBucket?

I was hoping someone would ask that question...it makes me feel less guilty about using the one I bought. It is a rubber hose with stainless braid, anodized ends, and hose clamps.

Why would you feel guilty?

If you had not pointed it out I would not have noticed the hose clamps. What did it cost
you for that top hose?

I bought it at Speedway for about $42 along with the new distributor cap...I hated that brown color. I painted the Accel coil with black metallic paint. The lower braided hose wont get here until this Friday. As far as debris getting in the alternator, that is a concern, but I plan on blowing it out with an air hose occasionally, and after all, it is not a daily driver.

I also have new red spark plug wires to to cut to length and make it a bit neater, but I still want to do something different with the spark plug wire guides first so I'll know how long to make them. I'm also toying with the idea of zoomies...

Looks like the alt pretty well protected behind the rad ....If that thermostat housing rotates , you could really shorten that hose..easy way to measure for the belt , cut your old one , wrap it around the pulleys and cut off the excess or measure how much too short it is , service station trick from 55 years ago.... I personally would have kept the corrugated hose...

Better hurry, after you reach the age of 60 you can't do that anymore!!! Won't help performance, but they look
cool. I'm sure you've read all the pros and cons, so no need to go there!

Are you going underneath the headers with the spark plugs?

Just so you know , you're running ported vacuum to your vacuum advance , try , if you like to run manifold vacuum , normally the engine will be more " drive able"

Not sure yet....depends on the wire guides I choose or make.

I've seen a couple articles about that...what makes it "more driveable "? I've also seen articles about disconnecting it completely but I'm not sure of the advantages to either.

I hope it runs even better! Rain all day tomorrow so the test flight won't be until at least tuesday.

With timing " on" full time at idle , your engine will run cooler and cleaner thus ( hopefully) reducing bogging loading up ....

I had my alternator mounted in the same spot for the whole time I had her and never had a problem with debris and I drove the snot out of her. You'll be fine.
