Saw a pic of a rear tubular bumper with taillights in it recently, anybody remember who's car it is? I think it was a red body.

Found it in classifieds, "selling my T- Bucket"

Hey! That's my car. The red car thing threw me off or I would have responded sooner.

The bumper was made from 7/8" tube and the lights are '50 Pontiac. I started out with 2 lights, but thought that 4 looked better.

Hope you don't mind me using your pic. I wanted to do something like that bumper on mine. I have spent the last 2 days trying to remember were I saw it:thumbsdown: , going through many forums. The red part must have been the lights:rolleyes:. I went through your build pics but couldn't see how it was mounted. Excellent workmanship by the way. I don't think I could sell my first born.

Sorry. No pics of the bumper mounts, but they're pretty simple.

I welded a piece of 2" flatbar to the vertical tubes. Another piece of flatbar was welded across the top of that and the whole thing bolts to the bottom of the rear body mounts.

Did you make the radiuses for the bumper? What type of bender did you use for the radiuses on the ends.?

I've been looking on youtube for ways to bend tubing and I have seen that procedure. Looks like it works very well. Looks like a 4" diam.?

Hoping im not stepping out of line here that will efect me being on the site . Mike J I have a 1' tube bender dye if that is the size you wont the tube to be? I can do it for you and all you need to do is reinburseal wi me for the tube and shipping. I just need total width that you need.
