Hey y'all . . . why don't we post a bunch of greetings and well-wishes for our Island Girl, Darlene. I think it would cheer her to know she is missed. She is one of those women who has gasoline in her veins. Before t-buckets, I think she was involved in powerboat racing. Anyway, whatever message of cheer and support you can post will be appreciated, I'm sure. Have a it!

Darlene, we are missing you around here. Sending ((hugs)) from your bucket family. 🤗 💕

Hey guys, thanks for thinking about me!

I keep hoping that I'll get the energy back that I used to have and do some work on some of the outdoor projects.

I've lost about 40 pounds since the stroke and my BP is now well controlled, although it can rise quickly if I get overly physically challenged.

Besides the "27, I have to do some upkeep on the Harley and solve the "fuel pump doesn't prime again" issue on the Corvette, which also needs the AC worked on.

Just so many things and so little time, energy, and resolve these days.

Before the stroke, I was working on putting acceptable wheel studs in the front hubs, and working out a good ride height with the rather heavy tall deck big block and thee low chin of the '34 style grill. I added a leaf to the front spring and went to an eye down configuration, which required making new shackles. As I recall, I was happy with the final results, which was probably the last bit of work I did.

I was pretty upset at how poor the chrome quality was, as the axle and radius rods was quite rusted and looked disgusting. (which didn't make me too excited to continue working on it) I ultimately bought the polished stainless steel axle kit, but have not yet installed it.

I'm actually a bit miffed that Josh at Spirit didn't mention that as an option and how many other bits are also available in SStl. (like the headlight buckets)

I also bought the last of the Duval windshield kits from Speedway. Had to get the non polished as the polished were sold out by the time I had the money in hand.

Anyway, I keep up some small hope that I will at some point get back to where I can work on the hot rod again.

I am still able to work on computers and smaller stuff inside, and still put in a 40+ hour week at work, so I'm not quite totally out to pasture just yet..

Wow! Sooo great to hear from you. PLEASE just check in with us once in awhile. You're an inspiration to a lot of us old geezers. 🤣 Glad to know that the 27 is still alive and getting at least some attention. We're here for you if you have any questions, or just want to rant a bit. Do you still have your old truck?

The silver truck is still here, somehow defying all odds in that the tires still hold air.

My former housemate left it here when she went back to the states in 2010, so it's just sitting here still.

Great to hear from you. Take it steady and you'll be fine.
