Chrome alternator.... blinga ding ding!

Well, I saved up enough coinage and popped for a chrome alternator & bracket. I moved the alternator higher up for a few reasons. I never really liked it low, next to the oil pan, it was a tight fit. The OEM alternator was good, but the new one puts out more amps. Last, but not least, who can't use a little more engine bling? So, here ya go!

Sorry for the pic quality. I guess I need to clean my lense. I'm having my finned covers polished, so these cheapo covers will do for now. All in all, I'm happy with both the increased charging and the looks. I got the bracket from Summit and the alternator from Speedway.

Hey Fred, keep an eye on your voltmeter with that blinganator. I've read that the low-end chrome alternators (i.e. Summit, Jeg's, parts house brands) frequently have their regulators go bad. Something to do with the chrome. I've had one burn up on me and take my MSD box, radiator fan and battery with it!!

Also, if you upped the ampacity of the alternator, you need to change out the hot wire charging back from the alternator, most need 8 gauge, or else things can get real hot in a hurry.

Yup... did that. Thanks.
