corvair steering box

Just wondering about using an aluminum corvair steering box. Anyone have any problems with these cracking with the weight of a V8 ? I have the TP "kit" ! Also, the steering arms are cast and not forged - are cast parts safe ? Thanks for any help.

The 'vair box is ok if you support the column. Stay away from the cast arms. Oringinal forged arms come up on e-bay all the time.
