I'm just curious what kind of distributer folks are using with their tunnel ram? I have used Mallory unilite before. I have been kicking around the idea of using a tunnel ram on my big block chevy and just wonder what distributer people have had good luck with?

Mallory Unilite or a stock small body chevy points distributor with a electonics kit installed....Petronics....good, simple, reliable.... Tunnelram is a good fashionable intake for the BigBlock, you'll have enough rotating mass at low speeds to keep it from falling on its face....
If tuned correctly, it'll run good.... Put EFI throttlebodys on it, won't even be able to tell its got a tunnelram on it....

Tunnelrams, we've beat this horse till it can't hardly be beat anymore. :whistling: We all have various opinions, and thoughts about this one. :coffee:While I haven't ever had that much problem with them, you have to tune them slowly and steadily. Summit carrys the Street Type Tunnelrams which have a smaller plenum chamber which helps with the low end.
So, do a search here and on the internet. For this topic, the search button is your friend....
If your not into tuning the carbs in a big way, I would suggest you stay away from the TR's and run a dual quad Hi-rise intake, still gives you that awesome look with awesome low speed throttle response....

*Plus the Facking LawHeads are starting to look at cars with tunnelrams and blowers in a bad light....:rolleyes:they are now claiming that because it OBSCURES your field of vision, you should not run these. ???? Oh, and they pollute.... (yea, right, like the 5000 members here probably only 350 or so of us that do run them are gonna doom the whole planet....)
And I kid you not, they are wanting to crack down on street driven cars with exhaust tests....pollution. And all this comes from the A-Holes that lie to us everyday in the Government.
They will not be satisfied till all of us are are driving all those look alike silver boxes that cost $15,000 and do 0-60 in about 45 minutes....:coffee:
Same folks that take the corn off the kitchen table and make you dilute your fuel supply so you get about 10-15% less milage with the old cars....:coffee:

*These thoughts and ideas are of my own mindset, not of this fine establishment that we belong to called T-Bucket Forums or T-Bucketeers.

Geeze I ask about distributer and get a preaching.
Yeah, Heaven forbid anyone would actually carry on some kind of discussion. Particularly here, in all places, a flippin' discussion forum, no less. SM, what were you possibly thinking?

And people wonder why this place always seems to be grating on my last, good nerve? You know, when people start belly-aching about reading a post of their own free will and accord, my patience evaporates, in a New York minute. OK, I want to know who held the farging gun to smokeyco75's head and forced him to read anything other than Post #2, because heads are going to roll. The guilty party needs to step forward, because holding another member hostage, at gun point, and forcing him to read anything is not going to be tolerated around here. Step your guilty backside out, right here and right now.

I've got a real simple fix for this issue. The question was asked in the OP and was answered in Post #2. Further comments to this thread are are apparently not going to be well-received, so this thread is now locked.

See how simple it is to fix things around here? Of course, someone is going to read my second paragraph, completely fail to see the sarcasm dripping off every word and will fire off a message to severely reprimand me. And no, that is not a joke, because it will happen.
