I see all the spirit cars have front panhard bar with traditional steering. Is this a must have? I really don't like the looks of it on there.

I have a Spirit Chasis and I didn't use the front panhard bar.

I have a spirit car and my front panhard broke off. Car drove slightly different without it, but I've driven it across the country since it was gone and car still drives great.

One of these days I might order up a replacement for it.

I built my Spirit car with the panhard bar. Back when there was a big debate on this board or the other one about front panhards, I took mine off as an experiment. I did notice a slight difference... the car just didn't feel as "tight" when cornering and seemed to wander slightly on less than smooth pavement. I put it back on. So my answer to your question would be... do you need a panhard bar? Probably not. Do you want a panhard bar? In my case, the answer is yes.

GT63 What size of ends did you use on your drag link from steering box to steering arm?

I'll have to go look when I get home. I switched out the entire front end for a chrome one from Speedway. when I did that I swapped out the drag link and tie rods too. I think all the heims are 5/8" , but I 'll double check it next time I'm in the garage.

I was just wondering if you had to drill a larger hole in the pitman arm for the 5/8"
