    Hello

    I have 10 x 2-1/2 drum brakes on my 9”. I believe they are Kelsey-Hayes from 71 Torino.
The E brake cables come out of the backing plates pointing forward.
I would like to run the cables along the axle. Basically a 90 degree angle change.
Has anyone done this before that may be to help me ?….a bellcrank or roller maybe to change direction.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like you are planning to use a stock-type cable actuation, right? Lokar makes a kit with some components that might be adaptable.

Yes I will be using some Lokar bits and pieces. Foot pedal style E brake from an international scout 2.
I am trying to keep everything on my bucket simple and uncluttered and having E brake cable loops visible between the wheels and body is going to be ugly.
I’m thinking I may try a grooved roller in the backing plate for the inner cable and the outer cable mounts on the axle tube…..if that makes sense.

There are numerous quality grooved rollers with bearings in them available for sliding patio doors. They are small and might work for your idea.

    Perfect.
I reckon the door rollers will work a treat.
    Appreciate your reply
