Edelbrock majority share sold to German investment group.

Just heard that Edelbrock was in the final stages of selling out to a German investment group. ???
I can find nothing in the news concerning this ...

Edelbrock is a German sir name and the rumor is as follows.........................

German firm to buy majority interest in Edelbrock?
Agent 1320 has been hearing rumors for about two weeks that the iconic American speed equipment manufacturer Edelbrock will sell controlling interest of the company to a German venture capital group. Sources have confirmed to the Agent that the sale of the company is about 95% complete and that when it is finished company founder Vic Edelbrock will still own a minority interest in the company stock. What will happen at the U.S. based company once the sale is completed and made public is unknown. Neither Edelbrock nor the German supposedly involved have released any official comment but our sources indicate that this is more than just a rumor and the official announcement could come at any time. We are glad to see that Edelbrock is evidently going to be around for a while to come. [5/12/10]

Agent 1320? :thumb:

I don't put much stock in the Agent. Generally, if you read something he's posted that is really true, it's because a dozen other sites have already posted facts that can be verified.

The Agent sells more than his share of porkies.

I've heard rumors about Vic being in a cash crunch for well over a year now. I know he's been steadily laying off employees for several months. Who knows?

Is the agents side kick agent 99. I always wanted a shoe phone!!!!

I've seen Edelbrock's ads for a fifty dollar rebate on set of heads and a couple of T-shirts thrown into the deal if you buy a pair of aluminum heads by 30JUN10.

I'm trying to save up for a pair heads by that deadline. Now, I wonder if this is offer is timed in some way to the sale of the company.

Does this mean that Edelbrock, as if is held today,is to honor the deal?

Is this concession being offered to improve Vic Edelbrock's cash flow positioin prior to the sale?

Will the rebates be honored by Vic Edelbrock's company or by the new owners?

Could the committment to rebates be lost somewhere in the details of the sale.... yup, that does sound like something the Administration might do.

So I'm ever so slightly, confused. Should I buy Edelbrock heads that are made in the USA even if warranted (if any warranty prevails) by a German company? The answer is yes. It doesn't matter as long as the heads are made in the USA. We drive Subarus' They're made in the USA.

I really don't want Cheap Chinese Communist Conscripted Child Cruelty Conflicting Capitalism Cast Crap.

Don't hold back ... how do you really feel about foreign made stuff?

I bought a set of Edelbrock alum heads about 3-4 years ago and got a free jacket (available, minus script, at Wally-world for $29.99), so I doubt if it had anything to do with any pending sale of the company. :)
